Used, Vintage, and Antique Items:
Used and vintage items may have some imperfections to metal plating, paint, and finishes as they are old and used items and not guaranteed to be in new or like-new condition.
We also do our very best to clean vintage items in the restoration process to remove any lingering odors but we cannot guarantee items will be scent-free.
3D Printing:
Due to the nature of 3D printing, slight variations in texture, finish, and color may occur between products. These variations are a normal part of the process and make each piece unique. While we strive for consistency, no two items will be exactly identical.
Repair Attempts:
Any attempt to repair or modify an electrical device or components is undertaken at your own risk. We strongly recommend seeking professional assistance for all electrical repairs. Aluminum:
If your item is aluminum and has tiny horizontal striations across the surface, this means it's made of "spun" aluminum. This type of aluminum was spun on a lathe to remove material and shape it. DO NOT polish this material aggressively and always polish in the direction of the striations. NEVER machine polish or you will ruin the "spun" appearance.
Brass & Copper:
Metals like copper and brass will tarnish and change color over time. Some prefer this warm tarnished look and some prefer the very shiny appearance. Make sure if you polish to use a special metal polish designed for the material you are polishing and use a soft microfiber cloth.
Bakelite/Catalin:
Bakelite and Catalin are both types of phenolic resin. Bakelite is mostly found in solid colors like black, brown, and sometimes red. Catalin on the other hand can come in a variety of beautiful swirled translucent colors. Catalin and Bakelite, with exposure to UV light, will darken due to a natural process that forms a thin layer of phenol alcohol on the surface. To reduce the speed and intensity at which this occurs please keep Catalin and Bakelite items out of direct sunlight and other UV light sources.
