Évaluation

Chaque projet de restauration que nous entreprenons commence par une évaluation minutieuse et historiquement informée afin de déterminer les meilleures méthodes pour restaurer le caractère original de l'éclairage.

Nous croyons qu'avoir une excellente compréhension des matériaux et des techniques de l'époque est primordial pour produire une restauration de qualité.

Nous notons tout dommage et déterminons s'il est réparable. Dans certains cas, en raison de dommages minimes, de rareté ou d'affiliation à un designer, il est déterminé qu'une restauration complète n'est pas appropriée. Dans ce cas, la pièce est légèrement nettoyée et étiquetée "Vintage".

Our Process

1: Cleaning
After the initial assessment is complete, the piece is carefully disassembled and each component is cleaned by hand using solvents appropriate for that material.
2: Resurfacing
Next, components are cleaned again to remove any cleaning agents from the previous step and are then sanded in a series of steps before the initial polish is applied.
3: Painting/Plating
Each component is individually painted or plated using a variety of processes appropriate for the needs of the individual components. This may include airbrushing, electrostatic powder coating, and other metal deposition methods.
5: Rewiring
When possible we try to retain the original electric components that we find. Sometimes those components must be replaced with modern equivalents such as the vintage-style polarized plugs we use. We utilize these to keep our products safe and up to modern electrical standards.
